Sustainability Week Reflection

The most engaging part of this week was when Tamar showed us the video of the baby albatrosses dying because their first meal was bottle caps and other plastic objects. It really made me understand what sort of damage or rubbish pollution can do to the animals that live in the water. Celebrating my culture especially Chinese New Year is very important to, where it is a time were all the family gather together to chat and catch up of life. If someone came and told me i could no longer celebrate that i would be very angry and upset because is one of the days i look forward to in the whole year. I really do feel sorry for the Indigenous culture in Victoria, i don’t know if they can completely no longer celebrate their culture but either way i still feel sorry for them because they have kinda being pushed to the side even though they were the original custodians to the land. It think that in our team project we are doing good, there are defiantly things that we can improve on like not too many words on your presentation, have cue cards and some others.

A positive about hosting the Leongatha Kids is that for once we were the people that knew where we were going and we had people following us. Another positive is that the Leongatha kids were very open to new things and most of them weren’t shy to have chat and get to know the Uni High kids. A minus about it is that in my group our Leongatha kids were very shy and didn’t really want to communicate with us which made it really awkward for us (Uni High people). Another minus is that we didn’t have a super long time out in Melbourne but still a sufficient amount of time to show them a bit about Melbourne. Overall it was fun.
